A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to inactive email addresses under the same domain name. For instance, an email sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
Configuring a catch-all e-mailbox will be really easy in case you have a Linux shared package with us. You can activate the feature through our advanced, albeit easy-to-use Email Manager, which is built into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage your shared web hosting account. You’ll see all the email addresses that you’ve set up shown in alphabetical order and on the right-hand side of each one of them there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly inform you if a certain mailbox gets all the email messages pertaining to a certain domain or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option whenever you want. If there’s active email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a given domain name, you’ll receive a warning message from our system. The latter won’t replace/disable anything automatically or without your permission.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
You’ll be able to create a catch-all email address with no more than one click in case you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated hosting package with our company and your email messages are handled by our cloud web hosting platform. All the mailboxes that you set up with any domain hosted in the semi-dedicated hosting account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a mini "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to activate this option will be to click on that icon. In the very same way you’ll be able to disable the feature, in case you no longer need it. Our system will let you know if you are trying to enable a 2nd catch-all email address for a certain domain or in case there is active email forwarding, but it will never change or deactivate any feature automatically and without your consent.
